NY12 - Psychiatry- South Central NY- Academics

Teaching hospital has need for 2 psychiatrists: Director of CPEP & Inpatient Adult for full time positions. They offer competitive salary and full benefits including family healthcare coverage, paid malpractice insurance, vacation and CME. Sign-on bonus, relocation expenses and loan repayment are negotiable.
Director: Responsibilities will include 50% CPEP coverage and 50% consultation / liaison service for the medical side of the house. CPEP consists of outpatients who present through the emergency department seeking emergent psychiatric assessment and a four (4) bed Extended Observation Unit. The consultation service covers two hospitals. The position will not have any coverage on the inpatient mental health units. Inpatient: Psychiatrists carry an inpatient case load of approximately 12 who will be spread across three inpatient units. These units include: a high security unit with 17 beds for stabilization of patients who pose significant risk of harm to self or others due to acute suicidal or homicidal intent, or active psychotic state with violence or risk thereof; a geri-psych unit with a strong ECT program for both inpatient and outpatient treatment; and a 22 bed general psych unit which provides stabilization and treatment for patients who are appropriate for a locked, but less secure than the high security unit.
